Zahra Dostmohammed

Zahra Dostmohammed (b. 2003, Austin, TX) creates dreamlike experiences to evoke memory through painting, drawing, printmaking, and ceramics. She participated in her thesis show called Oddments with her piece Dry Lands and Exhibited a two-person show called Between Memory and Madness: Reclaiming Identity at the South Asia Institute in Chicago. Interested in exhibition design, Zahra designed The Written Image, developing a cohesive visual narrative during her internship at the South Asia Institute. Passionate about community engagement, Zahra has been involved in mural arts, collaborating with local organizations to create public artworks that inspire and connect with the community. She believes in the power of art to foster dialogue and bring people together. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2025 and is now based in the bay area.
